Rome, Esquilino - Termini area

The Esquiline hill is the largest and highest of the seven hills of Rome. Extending from the Colosseum to Termini Station it was originally composed of four plateaus with the lower slopes of the western hill, the Suburra, being occupied by a densely populated shantytown.

The area between Via Cavour and Colle Oppio was, on the other hand, a residential area reserved for wealthier citizens.
