Basilica of San Marco

Description

Overlooking Piazza di San Marco but now incorporated into Palazzo Venezia, this church was founded in the 4th century in honour of Saint Mark the Evangelist. After various transformations, it now has a renaissance facade and a Romanic bell tower, while the interior is mainly baroque in style.
