Located in Via di San Gregorio VII, this church stands on the site where Pope Gregory the Great appointed Saint Augustine of Canterbury to go home and convert the Britons. Originally the house in which the pope was born, which he transformed into a monastery in 575, the church was reconstructed in the 17th century while the interior was restored in the 18th century by Francesco Ferrari.
