Pyramid of Caius Cestius

Description

Built in imitation of an Egyptian pyramid, this 1st century BC marble and brick tomb was built within the Aurelian city walls by Magistrate Caius Cestius and contrasts greatly with the typically curved lines of the surrounding classical architecture.
