CAMPO DEI FIORI |
|
It is a holiday home for periods
of 2 nights up to 1 month, and
it can accommodate from 2 to 4
people. The apartment which is
only 150 metres (5 minutes on
foot) from Piazza Campo dei Fiori,
is situated in Via San Salvatore
in Campo, a small and characteristic
Renaissance back street in the
heart of historic Rome.
The district
Campo de’ Fiori
is one of the most famous squares
of the city, known for its traditional
daily market and shops, characteristic
boutiques, pizzerias and restaurants
offering traditional Roman cuisine.
Five minutes away on foot is Piazza
Farnese with its 16th century
palace, Via Giulia with its elegant
aristocratic residences and antique
shops, the famous Piazza Navona,
the Pantheon and Campidoglio.
The Trevi Fountain, Saint Peter’s,
the Roman Forum and the Colosseum
are also within walking distance.
This is the heart of the capital,
a safe, tranquil, elegant and
historic area.
The apartment
The apartment is situated
on the third floor (no lift) of
a 15th Century building, decorated
with frescos which are still visible
on the façade. In fact,
this building is mentioned as
an example of art and history
in the “Guide to the districts
of Rome”, which illustrates
the cultural value of the accommodation
we offer.
From the luminous living room
there is a wonderful view on
the roof-top terraces with pots
of lemon trees and beyond to
the dome of the Church of S.
Carlo ai Catinari (see photo
on left hand).
The apartment it is 50 sq.m.
big, it has two rooms and has
recently been restored. Access
to the apartment is by a characteristic
internal staircase. The living
room, bedroom and bathroom all
lead off the entrance hall.
The spacious living room is furnished
with a dining area for 4 people
with an antique cupboard, a well
equipped kitchenette (with the
usual appliances and microwave
oven included), and a sitting
area with TV with Satellite and a comfortable
double sofa-bed. A fifth bed could
be added in the living room. Two
big windows make this a bright
and cheerful room. A washing machine
is offered for the use of guests.
The bathroom with shower is spacious
and functional. The white walls
and terracotta floors give the
apartment a Mediterranean atmosphere.
The good sized bedroom with
its double bed (queen size)
and spacious wardrobe, is tastefully
and discretely decorated.
The apartment has independent
heating and air conditioning
the summer period, but the characteristically
thick walls of the old buildings
of Rome prevent excessive heat
in summer or cold in winter.
Bed linen and bath towels are
provided.

how to get there:
From the airport
Taxi service:
upon request a driver will pick
you up at the airports of Fiumicino
or Ciampino and drive you to your
apartment. The cost for this service
is of 47 Euro (up to 4 people).
You can request the service by
sending us an e-mail including
your flight details.
From Leonardo da Vinci
- Fiumicino airport,
take the city train to Stazione
Trastevere, from where you you
can either take a taxi to the
apartment, or Tram No. 8 to Piazza
Cairoli (the next stop after the
bridge over the river Tiber) which
is about 100 metres from the apartment.
With the help of the attached
map, take Via degli Specchi
and the first left-hand turning
is Via San Salvatore in Campo.
If, however, you take a taxi we
advise you to suggest the following
route to the taxi driver: Via
Giulia, Vicolo del Polverone,
Via Capo di Ferro, Via Arco del
Monte, Piazza Monte di Pieta,
Via San Salvatore in Campo. The
trip by train + taxi or tram takes
about 1 hour.
From Ciampino airport,
take the CO.TRA.L bus near the
Bus Arrivals to the “Anagnina”
underground station, from which
you should then take the underground
to Roma Termini station. From
here you can take the bus number
64 in the direction of St. Peter’s
Church, stopping at Largo Argentina,
and then walk on Via Arenula towards
Piazza Cairoli. Once reached the
Piazza, with the help of the attached
map, take Via degli Specchi
and the first left-hand turning
is Via San Salvatore in Campo.
