The district
The Rione Monti area of Rome is one of the oldest parts of the city. With its cobbled streets and twisting lanes, it is also one of the most charming and picturesque.
Located in the heart of Rome, just a few minutes’ walk from the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, it is also well served by public transport: the underground railway stops just 100 metres away at Cavour station and the 117 electric bus service to the Spanish Steps and Via del Corso also passes nearby.
Bustling with restaurants, trattorias, pizzerias, pubs, social clubs, theatres and cinemas, the district offers a delightful glimpse of Roman life both by day and by night.
The apartment
Bright and quiet, the apartment is located on the second floor of a recently restructured 18th century building.
It is composed of one double bedroom, a second bedroom with two single beds, a mezzanine area furnished with another single bed (120x190), a sitting room furnished with a comfortable double sofa bed (160x190), a fully equipped kitchen which opens onto the sitting room and a large bathroom with bath and shower.
All the windows are doubled glazed and thus eliminate all noise from outside, even though the area is extremely quiet.
The flat is furnished with antique furniture and paintings: even the tiles in the bathroom and kitchen are of authentic 19th century Sicilian manufacture.
All the facilities are approved to Italian standards and have been recently reviewed.
The apartment can sleep up to 7 people and is fitted with air conditioning, an autonomous heating system, satellite television and a washing machine. Bed and bathroom linen is supplied.
how to get there:
From the airport
Taxi service: on request a driver will collect you from either Fiumicino or Ciampino airport and take you straight to the apartment. The cost of the service is €47 for up to 4 people, €60 for 5-6 people, €70 for 7-8 people.
From Leonardo da Vinci - Fiumicino airport take the light railway to Roma Termini station and then the underground (Linea B) towards Laurentina. Alight at the first station ("Cavour"). On exiting the underground station cross Via Cavour and go down the steps towards Piazza della Suburra. From Piazza della Suburra, turn right into Via Urbana and then take the first left to Piazza degli Zingari. Via Clementina is one of the streets leading off Piazza degli Zingari.
From Ciampino airport take the CO.TRA.L. bus service from the bus stop outside the Arrivals Hall to "Anagnina" underground station and then the underground railway to Roma Termini station. Change lines and take the Linea B towards Laurentina. Alight at the first station ("Cavour"). On exiting the underground station cross Via Cavour and go down the steps towards Piazza della Suburra. From Piazza della Suburra, turn right into Via Urbana and then take the first left to Piazza degli Zingari. Via Clementina is one of the streets leading off Piazza degli Zingari.
