The Area

Located in Via Leonina in the historic Rione Monti area of Rome, one of the oldest parts of the Eternal City, the apartment lies just a few yards from the Colosseum and the Imperial Forum in the area between the ancient Palatine, Viminal ed Esquiline hills.

Known as the Suburra, the working class district of the city of Rome, during the Imperial Age, today the Rione Monti is an extremely fashionable area which, despite its elegant palazzos and luxury fashion boutiques, nevertheless manages to retain a ‘village-like’ atmosphere. Indeed, the narrow lanes and cobbled streets of the area make it one of the most picturesque areas of the city, while the fact that the local shopkeepers often lend their shop windows to local artists and performers means that the area is characterized by an extremely active street life. Crowded with restaurants offering both traditional and state-of-the-art cuisine as well as pubs, clubs, theatres and cinemas, both day and night the Rione Monti offers a typical view of everyday life in the Eternal City.

The Rione Monti area is the ideal base for visitors wishing to visit the centre of Rome on foot and using public transport. Indeed the underground station (Colosseo) lies just a few yards from the apartment while the electric-powered bus N° 117 to both the Spanish Steps and Via del Corso stops right outside the apartment.

The apartment

This recently restored apartment is made up of a cosy and sunny elegantly furnished 25 sq.m. space, on the second floor of an eighteenth-century building.

The beamed ceiling, parquet and wooden furniture make for an intimate and romantic atmosphere.

The flat is a comfortable bed sit furnished with a double queen size sofa-bed, a dining table and two chairs, an en-suite toilet and shower, a small well-equipped kitchen (with microwave oven and electric hot plates too) where you can prepare your breakfast or cook a complete meal.

Satellite TV, air conditioning, bed and bath linen are provided free-of-charge. English, Spanish and French are spoken. Guests will be given detailed maps of Rome and all the information necessary for a pleasant stay in Rome or eventual excursions outside the city.

Another two people can be accommodated in the apartment AP04 FORI IMPERIALI next door (on the same landing).

How to get there

Taxi service

Upon request a driver will pick you up at the airports of Fiumicino or Ciampino and drive you to your apartment. The cost for this service is of 47 Euro (up to 4 people). You can request the service by sending us an e-mail including your flight details.

From Leonardo da Vinci - Fiumicino airport

Take the city train to Stazione Termini, from where you can take the underground-line B or bus number 75 or 204 up to “Metro Cavour” for a 1 hour ride. After getting out from the underground cross via Cavour and go down the stairs that will take you to Piazza della Suburra. The apartment is on the square.

From Ciampino airport, take the CO.TRA.L

Bus near the Bus Arrivals to the “Anagnina” underground station, from which you should then take the underground to Roma Termini station.

From here you can take the underground-line B or bus number 75 or 204 up to “Metro Cavour” for a 1 hour ride. After getting out from the underground cross via Cavour and go down the stairs that will take you to Piazza della Suburra. The apartment is on the square, in via Leonina.

From the train station

From Termini Station you can get a taxi or take the underground-line B or bus number 75 or 204 up to “Metro Cavour” for a 10 minutes ride. Ottima soluzione per coppia giovane. Appartamento molto piccolo ma molto ben servito da metro, autobus, negozi e ristoranti. Volendo si può andare a piedi, senza fretta, quasi ovunque, godendosi ogni angolo di questa splendida città.

Questa città e splendida,ha dei monumenti e una storia fantastica!!
L'appartamento in cui siamo stati era in una zona strategica x poter visitare tutta la citta a piedi.
