Description

The Area

One of the most central areas of Rome, Rione Trevi is home to numerous 17th century palazzos, many of which were originally the residences of high ranking members of the church or the nobility. Indeed, Palazzo Colonna, Palazzo Barberini and Palazzo del Quirinale are just three examples of the magnificent architectural heritage of the area.
The area also includes many famous squares: the world famous Spanish Steps and the Barcaccia fountain lie just a 5 minute walk from the apartment, while the Triton riding on the backs of four dolphins of the fountain of Piazza Barberini, one of the most magnificent sculptures of Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1642), is also located just a few yards from the apartment.
By night the area is renowned for its theatres, restaurants, bars and hotels and the fact that in the 1950s and 1960s it was the epicentre of the jet-set life so finely illustrated in Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita.
As far as fashion and shopping are concerned, the area between Via Nazionale, Via del Tritone and the Spanish Steps has something to satisfy everybody’s pocket.

The Apartment

Located on the first floor of an elegant early 20th century palazzo in Via degli Avignonesi, a peaceful side street in the vicinity of Piazza Barberini, Via Veneto and the Trevi Fountain, the recently restructured 170m2 apartment is furnished in an elegant contemporary style and fitted with all mod cons. Sleeping up to 10 people, the apartment overlooks a delightful garden on one side and the courtyard of the palazzo on the other and is thus extremely quiet at all times of the day and night.
From the entrance hall, the apartment opens onto a sitting room, furnished with sofas and an LCD satellite TV, which then leads to a dining room furnished with a large wooden table and sufficient leather chairs to accommodate all the guests staying in the apartment. The apartment has five bedrooms: three double bedrooms, one bedroom with twin single beds and one bedroom with a small double bed (140 cm x 190 cm). Passing through one of the bedrooms it is possible to access a terrace overlooking the garden, one of the many hidden behind the facades of the apartment blocks of Rome; another bedroom has a small balcony overlooking the courtyard.
All the bedrooms are furnished with black leather beds and large white wardrobes. The three tastefully furnished bathrooms are all fitted with state of the art showers; one of the bathrooms is also fitted with a washing machine.
The kitchen is fully fitted with dishwasher, a large fridge-freezer and traditional oven and a microwave.
The apartment is air conditioned throughout, with each room having its own air temperature control system, free wi-fi Internet connection and served by a central heating system. The entire apartment is lined with natural parquet flooring making the perfect place to spend time in Rome in the utmost comfort and style.

On taking delivery of the apartment the guests will be requested to furnish a deposit of Euro 300 which will be returned on conclusion of their stay, less the cost of any damage to the apartment.

How to get there

From the airport

Taxi service

Upon request a driver will pick you up at the airports of Fiumicino or Ciampino and drive you to your apartment. You can request the service by sending us an e-mail including your flight details.

From Leonardo Da Vinci Airport (Fiumicino)

It is possible to take a taxi straight to the apartment. Alternatively it is possible to take the light railway service from the airport to Roma Termini railway station and then either a taxi to the apartment or Bus 175 for 7 stops alighting at TRITONE/BARBERINI bus stop which lies approximately 100 metres from the apartment. Similarly from Roma Termini railway station it is possible to take the underground (Line A) for 2 stops alighting at “Barberini” station and then walking till Via degli Avignonesi.

From Ciampino airport

From Ciampino airport take the CO.TRA.L. bus service from the bus stop outside the Arrivals Hall to "Anagnina" underground station and then the underground railway to Roma Termini station and from here take either a taxi to the apartment or Bus 175 for 7 stops alighting at TRITONE/BARBERINI bus stop which lies approximately 100 metres from the apartment. Similarly from Roma Termini railway station it is possible to take the underground (Line A) for 2 stops alighting at “Barberini” station and then walking till Via degli Avignonesi.

From the train station

From Roma Termini railway station take either a taxi to the apartment or Bus 175 for 7 stops alighting at TRITONE/BARBERINI bus stop which lies approximately 100 metres from the apartment. Similarly from Roma Termini railway station it is possible to take the underground (Line A) for 2 stops alighting at “Barberini” station and then walking till Via degli Avignonesi.

By Car

The apartment is located within the restricted traffic area (ZTL - Zona a Traffico Limitato). Guests wishing to drive up to the apartment should click here www.atac.roma.it for information regarding the area covered by the ZTL scheme and the hours in which it is possible to access the city centre. Parking is available in Ludovisi underground car park in Villa Borghese just a short walk from the apartment.

The Families Westerheim and Kongshang had a nice and pleasant stay here in the apartment. No problem being 8 people in here. The location, close to the metro, was excellent. We have visited all the tourist places, we even saw the Pope on St Peter's Square. The weather was like a good summer in Norway. Maybe Rome will be our home for some days also later and maybe this apartment!

It took a while to fond an apartment online in Rome but we happily stumbled into this rental! We had a lovely stay. The location is great - we wished we had a larger terrace to "mangia'"!. Overall the apartment is "bellissimo" and our stay was great!
