The Area

Located across the River Tiber to the north west of the city centre, the Prati area of Rome is distinguished first and foremost by the magnificent cupola of St Peter’s church, which is visible from all over the city. In front of St Peter’s Square, the monumental Via della Conciliazione leads to Castel Sant’Angelo and its historic borgo, an area of Rome filled with a peculiar mix of bars and shops selling religious raiment.
Across the river, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II stretches into the heart of the city while, to the north of St Peter’s Square, Via di Porta Angelica leads to Piazza Risorgimento, a square lined with elegant palazzos and liberty style villas.
Strolling through the streets of Prati, it is possible to pop into the pleasant winebars and shops of Via Cola di Rienzo, take in a film at Azzurro Scipioni cinema or listen to some of Italy’s finest jazz musicians at Alexanderplatz. Our Musei Vaticani apartment lies just a few yards from the entrance to the Vatican Museum and can be reached by continuing along Via Ottaviano past “Ottaviano – San Pietro” underground station and then skirting the Vatican walls.

The Apartment

Located on the ground floor (with independent entrance) of an elegant early 20th century palazzo, the spacious apartment is tastefully furnished in bright modern colours, although many of the original features of the flat - the vaulted ceilings, the floors in the entrance hall and the kitchen and the coloured tiles in the veranda – have nevertheless been carefully preserved.
The apartment is composed of a large sitting room with a double sofa bed, 3 bedrooms (of which two have full size double beds (160 cm x 190 cm) and one has a small double bed (140 cm x 190 cm)) and three bathrooms (one en suite). The bathrooms are all tastefully decorated in shades of dark blue, green and azure and are all fitted with shower. In addition, the large brightly coloured kitchen is fitted with a distinctive orange 50s-style fridge as well as a dishwasher, a washing machine, an oven and all necessary kitchen utensils. The most unusual feature of the apartment is undoubtedly its courtyard, an inner sanctum furnished with wrought iron furniture, an ancient marble wash basin and terracotta flooring: the perfect place in which to relax with a glass of wine after a long walk through the city or to have a lazy al fresco breakfast in the morning.
The apartment is also fitted with satellite TV, air conditioning and FREE internet access.

On taking delivery of the apartment the guests will be requested to furnish a deposit of Euro 200 which will be returned on conclusion of their stay, less the cost of any damage to the apartment.

From the airport

Taxi service

On prior request, a driver will be sent to collect you from either Fiumicino or Ciampino airport and accompany you directly to the apartment. In order to request this service, please send an e-mail containing the details of your flight (airline, flight number, time of arrival, etc.).

From “Leonardo da Vinci” - Fiumicino airport

Take the light railway to Termini Railway Station and then the Linea A underground service towards BATTISTINI. Alight after 6 stops at Ottaviano - S. Pietro underground station and then take Viale Giulio Cesare as far as Via Leone IV. Turning left into Via Leone IV, after a few yards you will reach the crossroads with Via Sebastiano Veniero.

From Ciampino airport

Take the CO.TRA.L. coach service from the Arrivi Bus station towards Anagnina underground station and then the Linea A underground service towards BATTISTINI. Alight after 6 stops at Ottaviano - S. Pietro underground station and then take Viale Giulio Cesare as far as Via Leone IV. Turning left into Via Leone IV, after a few yards you will reach the crossroads with Via Sebastiano Veniero.

From Termini Train Station

Take the Linea A underground service towards BATTISTINI. Alight after 6 stops at Ottaviano - S. Pietro underground station and then take Viale Giulio Cesare as far as Via Leone IV. Turning left into Via Leone IV, after a few yards you will reach the crossroads with Via Sebastiano Veniero.

By car

Parking is available either in the municipal car park at the Cipro-Musei Vaticani underground station or on parking meters in the blue parking spaces near the apartment.
