The area

Located in the smartest and most exclusive part of the city centre, just a few metres from the Spanish Steps, Via Margutta is known as the artistic heart of the city of Rome, an area in which art galleries and fashionable restaurants have jostled for attention ever since the 1950s when the narrow lane was chosen as the set of Roman Holiday and the local residents included Federico Fellini, Renato Guttuso and Giorgio De Chirico.

Not far from Via Margutta lies Via Condotti, one of the most famous shopping streets in the world, a showcase of Italian and European fashions.

Close enough to all the most famous tourist attractions of Rome that they can be reached on foot, Via Margutta is perfectly located for holiday makers wishing to dine in the romantic atmosphere of the Spanish steps or drink an aperitif in the Antico Caffè Greco, the bar traditionally frequented by the scholars, artists and writers of Rome.

The apartment

Bright and quiet, the apartment is located on the fifth floor –served by a lift - of an elegant palazzo in Via del Babuino. The view from the apartment is unique and sensational. Indeed, thanks to the French windows in the attic living room, guests staying in the apartment can enjoy a spectacular 360° view of the rooftops and domes of Rome (as illustrated in the photos alongside).

The apartment ranges over two floors, the lower of which has a sitting room with kitchenette, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower, washing machine and tumble dryer. The upper floor, which is accessed via an easy staircase, is dedicated to a panoramic living room with double sofa bed (140 cm x 190 cm) and can sleep one or two people.

The parquet floors and original paintings with which the apartment is decorated make it extremely welcoming, while the autonomous heating system and individual air-conditioning systems in each room mean the temperature of the apartment can be adjusted to each guests personal needs.

How to get there

From the airport

Taxi service

On request a driver will pick you up from Fiumicino or Ciampino airport and accompany you to the apartment.

From “Leonardo da Vinci” Fiumicino airport

Take the light railway service to Termini station and then the underground rail service (Linea A towards Battistini) to “Spagna” station (3 stops). On leaving Spagna station, turn right into Via del Babuino and continue on foot or by bus (N° 117 or N° 119) as far as the building in which the apartment is located.

From Ciampino Airport

Take the CO.TRA.L. coach service from the Arrivals Hall to "Anagnina" underground station and then the underground railway service towards “Battistini”, alighting at “Spagna” station. On leaving Spagna station, turn right into Via del Babuino and continue on foot or by bus (N° 117 or N° 119) as far as the building in which the apartment is located.

From the railway station

From Termini Railway Station: take the underground (Linea A) service towards Battistini, alighting after three stops at “Spagna” station. On leaving Spagna station, turn right into Via del Babuino and continue on foot or by bus (N° 117 or N° 119) as far as the building in which the apartment is located.

It cannot possibly be nearly a month since we left Rome and AP49 Margutta, but the calendar does not lie! We are still recalling all the wonderful memories of our visit and thinking fondly on all the beautiful people we met. So many helped us and made our welcome so personal. Gene and I include the entire staff at Rome Accommodation who were available to assist and to answer our questions - you made us feel like special and appreciated guests in your home! We thank you all for that!
Our five weeks seem to go very quickly because we were so busy going, seeing, doing and then sitting in a cafe and enjoying the atmosphere while watching life in Rome go past us! It was a wonderful experience and a very educational visit.
Please know that you were a big part of why we could enjoy so much of your culture--our apartment put us right 'on the streets of Rome' with access to the people. The comforts we had in the apartment made coming home after a very exhausting day a pleasure to look forward to: a glass of wine upstairs while the sun went down....who could ask for more?
We will happily recommend your firm to all our friends who ask...and they do! Most are amazed that we do this and a hotel seems to be the normal pattern, but then, we don't care for hotels! We like to be at home away from home, so thank you again for allowing us that opportunity.

La localización es inmejorable en pleno centro de Roma y a un paso de las bocas de metro de la Piazza del Popolo y de Piazza di Spagna. Tranquilo y silencioso. Las vistas inmejorables, abarcando desde Villa Medici por el Este hasta las cúpulas de las iglesias "gemelas" de la piazza del Popolo. Amaneceres y atardeceres espléndidos. El apartamento cuenta con todo tipo de comodidades: calefacción, lavadora-secadora, equipo de música, etc. Lo mejor de todo el recibimiento por parte del personal de la empresa. Reservamos taxi para la ida y para la vuelta. Ambos correctos y puntuales.

My husband and I have stayed at numerous vacation rentals in the last 3 years around the globe and this location (Margutta) by far is our favorite. The apartment was in the best location to enjoy all the sites of Rome. The apartment it self was a wonderful place to give out feet a rest and enjoy the views and atmosphere of Rome by sitting in the second story living room with huge windows. The apartment was clean and well stocked with items we didn't think to bring. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We can't wait to come back!
