The Area

Via del Gesù is one of the most central streets in the city of Rome, a road which lies just a few yards from the Pantheon, Piazza Venezia and Via del Corso and which, according to ancient legend is always pervaded by a refreshing breeze. The reason for this breeze is that, one day, the devil and the wind were strolling through the city when they halted in front of the church of Gesù and the devil told his companion to wait for him while he went inside the church to attend to some business. As the devil never came out of the church again, the wind is still waiting outside the church for him to reappear. Let us know if it’s still true!

This and many other secrets are easy to discover from the apartment in Via del Gesù, whose position is ideal for pleasant strolls to such places of interest as Piazza Navona, the Trevi fountain and Piazza Venezia.

The Apartment

The apartment is located on the first or rather the mezzanine floor of an ancient palazzo in Via del Gesù, a floor which was originally used for service purposes and for housing the staff of the palazzo. As a result, the ceilings are far lower than on the other floors (2 metres high in the kitchen and sitting room, 2.20 metres in the bedroom) although this characteristic architectural feature makes the flat extremely welcoming and cozy.

The apartment is composed of a sitting room furnished with a double sofa bed (140 cm x 190 cm), a dining table and a TV and overlooks Via del Gesù, a quiet, traffic free street in the centre of the city, while the kitchenette is fully furnished with oven and microwave, fridge and all utensils necessary for cooking and the small but welcoming bedroom is furnished with a wardrobe and a double bed. The bedroom window overlooks an inner courtyard which makes it a little dark but extremely quiet. The apartment is also fitted with a bathroom with shower, free WI FI Internet access and air conditioning in the living room.

The entire flat has been recently restructured and its modern furnishings make it extremely suitable for couples or families with children. However, the sitting room ceiling is still crossed by an original low wooden beam … so watch out for your head!

On request a driver will pick you up at either Fiumicino or Ciampino airport and accompany you to the apartment.

From “Leonardo da Vinci” Fiumicino airport

Take the light railway to Termini railway station and then the N° 40 bus service towards PIAZZA PIA/CASTEL SANT’ANGELO. Alight at ARGENTINA bus stop in Corso Rinascimento and continue on foot. Via del Gesù is a little way ahead on the right.

From Ciampino airport

Take the CO.TRA.L. coach service from the Arrivals Hall to "Anagnina" underground station and then the underground service to Roma Termini. Take the N° 40 bus service towards PIAZZA PIA/CASTEL SANT’ANGELO. Alight at ARGENTINA bus stop in Corso Rinascimento and continue on foot. Via del Gesù is a little way ahead on the right.

From Rome Termini railway station

Take N° 40 bus service towards PIAZZA PIA/CASTEL SANT’ANGELO. Alight at ARGENTINA bus stop in Corso Rinascimento and continue on foot. Via del Gesù is a little way ahead on the right.
