The Area

The famous market in which the unmistakable voice of Anna Magnani rang out in the 1940’s film Campo de’ Fiori is still one of the most authentic areas of the city centre. Indeed, beyond the many souvenir shops and tourist-oriented restaurants which crowd the area, the square and its surrounding lanes still conserve all their original charm.

The apartment is located in Via dei Baullari, the lane which joins Piazza Navona to Campo de’ Fiori. Originally known as Via dei Ferravecchi, as it was populated by scrap metal dealers, the street has changed its name several times over the course of the centuries, being known as Via dei Valigiari when it was home to luggage purveyors and now named Via dei Baullari as a result of the fact that it was later inhabited by various workshops in which trunks were made.
The apartment is perfectly positioned for visiting the city centre and is within a short walking distance of Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, the Vatican and Castel Sant’Angelo, the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps.

The building and the apartment

The apartment is located on the fourth floor (no lift) of an elegant 17th century building which once served as a trading station for goods from the surrounding countryside. The large balcony on the corner of the building overlooking Corso Vittorio Emanuele II belongs to the other Rome Accommodation BAULLARI apartment which is able to sleep up to 13 guests.
The position and the fine appointment of the apartment will make you forget the stairs instantly!
The apartment is large and airy and can sleep up to 12 guests. It is composed of five bedrooms, of which two are furnished with a double bed, one has twin beds, one is a triple room and one has a single bed. A single sofa bed is also available in the living room. If necessary a folding bed can be added to any of the rooms, bringing the total number of beds available to twelve. There are two bathrooms with shower, both decorated with ceramic tiles and wooden fittings.

The heart of the apartment is the kitchen, which is furnished with antique fittings, has a large copper sink and is decorated with Mediterranean style tiles. The large dining table is able to seat all the guests and makes the kitchen area both welcoming and comfortable.
The apartment also has two large sitting rooms in which guests can meet up after visiting the city. The flat is supplied with a washing machine, a dishwasher, a free WI FI connection, TV and ceiling fans in the bedrooms and the sitting room.

The characteristic building in which the apartment is located has been careful conserved. Indeed, the apartment is distinguished by original wooden beamed ceilings, large doors with transom windows and parquet and hexagonal tiled floors. The antique furnishings including the heavy wooden beds, bedside chests and wardrobes further enhance the atmosphere of this large and delightfully appointed flat.

At the arrival a deposit of Euro 300 is required, which will be returned at the end of the stay except in case of any damage caused to the flat.

From the airport

Taxi service

Upon request a driver will pick you up at the airports of Fiumicino or Ciampino and drive you to your apartment. You can request the service by sending us an e-mail including your flight details.

From Leonardo da Vinci - Fiumicino airport

Take the train to Termini railway station and then take the 64 bus towards S. Pietro (St. Peter’s church). Alight after 9 stops at Corso Vittorio/Sant’Andrea della Valle bus stop. Cross the road and take Via dei Baullari.

From Ciampino airport

Take the CO.TRA.L. service from the Arrivals bus station to "Anagnina" underground station and then the underground train to Roma Termini railways station. Here take the 64 bus towards S. Pietro (St. Peter’s church) and alight after 9 stops at Corso Vittorio/Sant’Andrea della Valle bus stop. Cross the road and take Via dei Baullari.
