Palazzo Massimo is a welcoming, 30 sq.m. two-roomed flat on the third floor (no lift) of a historic building. The building's original staircase provides access to the apartment. On the upper floors it narrows a bit which makes the task of carrying large pieces of luggage a bit more difficult.

The apartment has two floors. The lower floor day area is fitted with a single sofa-bed and a kitchenette, while the night area on the upper floor has a double bed and bathroom with shower. The interior pays tribute to both Roman art and Renaissance architecture. In fact two Roman columns with Corinthian capitals marvelously preserved over the centuries give visitors the unique chance to enjoy a real and proper home museum!

The apartment sleeps two people comfortably with the possibility of accommodating a third person on the lower floor. The bare beams and parquet floor add a touch of intimacy to this quiet, comfortable flat. The windows overlook the characteristic roofs of the city centre and the dome of the church of S. Andrea della Valle.

The apartment is fitted with air conditioning and autonomous central heating, satellite TV, CD player, free wi-fi Internet connection and fully equipped kitchenette with microwave oven.

In the area around the apartment

Overlooking the baroque dome of the church of S. Andrea della Valle, the apartment is quiet at anytime of the day or night despite being located in the heart of the day and night life of the city. It is an ideal solution for visitors wishing to experience the history, life and traditions of Rome. As described and illustrated in the pictures, during restoration of the flat several original Roman columns with extremely well preserved capitals were brought to light.

The apartment is well served by the public transport system and located in a strategic position for visiting the eternal city. A five minute walk leads to the Pantheon, while it takes only ten minutes to get to the Trevi fountain and 15 minutes to get to the Colosseum or St Peter’s church.

The historic building (right photo next to the church) dates back to the first half of the 16th century and is part of the "Palazzi dei Massimi" complex together with "Palazzo di Pirro", and "Palazzo delle Colonne" (famous for its semicircular façade). Both the buildings were designed by Renaissance architect Baldassare Peruzzi.

This flat in Rome is awesome! It is right in the center so we were able to walk EVERYWHERE! I admit, we still walked at least 10 miles a day, and didn't need to use the bus once. We even walked to the train station for our day trip to Naples. Silvano was waiting for us when we arrived which I appreciated after 20 hours of traveling. He handed us a map and gave us a few suggestion on restaurants and bars. We had really everything we needed, including wine glasses and a wine opener! When we come back to Rome, we will definitely be staying here again.

Our stay in this lovely apartment was great. It is in an excellent location just south of Piazza Navona, with Campo d'Fiori just on the other side of the street. The place is quite small but therefore very cosy, perfectly suited for two people. It had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. Our hosts were exceptionally quick in responding to questions we had during our stay. We would definitely recommend this apartment.

Fantastic location - very central. The lady who met us at the apartmen was very helpful. No washing machine, but we managed.

The flat looks exactly like in the photos. The location is just perfect. It was quiet and clean. The only downside was the bed: it consists of two mattresses and they were sometimes sliding away from each other creating a \hole\" in the middle.
Apart from that we didn't have any complaints and the welcoming was friendly!
I would recommend this flat to anyone who wants both cozy interior and good location.
