Sant'Angelo Bridge

PonteSantAngelo

Built over the River Tiber by Emperor Hadrian in 136, Sant’Angelo bridge – of which only three original arches remain - was designed to enable access to Hadrian’s mausoleum, although its fame is due to the angels (sculpted by Bernini’s pupils) which line its sides and have welcomed thousands of worshipers to the Vatican city.
